Hello everyone!

Firstly, I must apologise because I have had comments on my inbox for weeks that I haven't replied yet. I will come to it, I promise, I'm just too lazy right now because I'm giving myself a week of (more or less, as I'm currently trying to work on my thesis anyway) relax, and usually I am around LJ only when I have to procrastinate.

So, I wanted to share with you this hilarious article about Spain. If you have me on Twitter or you know me even the tiniest bit, you already know how much I criticise my country, but this article was just spot on! Some bits I loved:

Years later, it still surprises me when I’m walking down a street in Spain and I hear an old lady spitting out the word "coño" (think four-letter English swear words starting with ‘c’ and you get the idea). Old ladies and those who are only 21... :D

Morning coffee is always at eleven, lunch comes around at 3pm, and don’t even dare suggest going out to a club before 1am. CRUCIAL! I know people who has lunch around 1pm (???) but the normal here is 2-3pm or even 4, as I do with my parents when we're home on the weekend. And really, never ever go to a club before 1am because it'll be dead.

I always feel like I’m in the Wild West when I see restaurant floors covered in everything from tooth picks to ketchup sachets. Sadly it's true. In fact, last weekend I was in Seville and I was surprised to find how *clean* the floors were! Madrid must be the worst, I believe.

Spaniards don’t like criticism — from outsiders. True! Even if I consider myself *very* dettached from any kind of national pride, it really pisses me off seeing certain kind of comments from outsiders. I guess "la tierra es la tierra", isn't it? :P

Right, I really recommend the article, because it's very funny. That site also seems very good for tips about anything related to Spain, so if you ever plan to visit, take a look! And also, please ALWAYS remember most Spaniards don't know how to dance flamenco ;)
